MAWJOUDIN QUEER FILM FESTIVAL
MQFF EDITIONS SINCE 2018
The “Mawjoudin Queer Film Festival” is an annual event held in Tunisia that celebrates the Queer community. Established in 2018, it was the first queer film festival in the North African region. The festival focuses on exploring queer identities, particularly within individuals from the Global South. It features film screenings, artworks, panels, workshops, and exhibitions.
The festival aims to be bold and innovative, emphasizing an intersectional approach in addressing gender-based discrimination and oppression. Its unique program encourages discovery, stimulates critical thinking, and seeks to clarify fundamental concepts that may be misunderstood or misrepresented in the collective consciousness.
